Bowmanville Extension: Simcoe Street closure public information session
Welcome
Metrolinx is extending the Lakeshore East GO train line nearly 20 kilometres from Oshawa to Bowmanville. As part of this project, Metrolinx will be replacing the Simcoe Street Bridge located over the Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) track.
This work will require a full road closure of Simcoe Street between Avenue and Albany streets on either side of the CPKC track for approximately two years.
To ensure you have information you need, Metrolinx staff and project experts are hosting a virtual public information session on Tuesday, January 6th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. to explain the changes that are coming to the community and to provide an opportunity to ask questions of our teams.
Registration is required to attend the virtual meeting. Participants can join via their web browser, or through the Microsoft Teams app. Downloading Microsoft Teams is not required to participate in this meeting.
Accommodations are available upon request. Please contact DurhamRegion@metrolinx.com or 416-202-3900 by December 29th, 2025, should you require support to participate in this event.
