Full fleet of Crosstown LRT vehicles testing new route
All the sophisticated vehicles that will be used on the Crosstown route are on hand & being tested.
Mar 29, 2022
The stable is full and the full fleet of light rail transit vehicles (LRV) to be used on the Eglinton Crosstown line are being put through their paces.
The vehicles have been continuing their testing along the new alignment. But we thought it was important to point out all 76 of the Alstom (formally Bombardier) Flexity Freedom vehicles are together.
The vehicles were delivered throughout 2021 via different modes of rail and truck deliveries to the Eglinton Maintenance and Storage Facility (EMSF).
Each vehicle has been thoroughly tested, including 600km of initial running before being available to test the specialized systems, such as the signaling system at the EMSF, and on the main line.
The 76 make for an impressive fleet, ready for future customers.
