Concrete pour

Concrete flows inside future Finch West LRT maintenance shop

From utility relocation to drilling & excavations, progress is being made on the Finch West LRT.

May 8, 2020

Inside the big top near Finch Avenue West and Jane Street, there’s a lot of action happening.

Of course, we’re talking about the enormous tent that’s been built at the site of the Finch West LRT maintenance and storage facility (MSF). The tent was installed temporarily to protect the site during the cooler months, allowing workers to pour and cure concrete, from the elements. Located at 50 York Gate Boulevard, the construction site for the MSF is alive with activity.

A maintenance and storage facility is one component of the overall Finch West LRT project. It will be used to store the light rail vehicles (LRVs) and provide space for service, repairs and inspection.
