Now complete: Major upgrades to support increased GO service and provide a better customer experience
Major upgrades are complete at Unionville GO Station. These improvements allow us to serve even more daily passengers as we introduce all-day, two-way GO train service over the next several years, all while providing a better experience for you.
Unionville GO Station is an important connection for Markham and for our entire region. It is a convenient “mobility hub”, with connections to GO Transit, VIVA BRT, and YRT local bus service in the heart of Markham’s new downtown.
Here’s a list of improvements that have been completed at Unionville GO Station:
- Approximately 300 new parking spots
- Safe pedestrian walkways through the parking lot
- A second track and a turnaround track so trains can travel both ways on the Stouffville line
- Canopies over the platforms with shelters
- A new island platform and a relocated east platform with new snow-melting systems
- Easier access to the platforms with new ramps from the parking lot
- New pedestrian tunnels and elevators
