An improved station to better serve you

We’re bringing customers an entirely remodeled and improved Rutherford GO Station, with more parking spaces, a new station building, and modern customer amenities.

We’re transforming Rutherford GO with more service today and delivering on a promise to further increase service in the future. To date, Metrolinx has made progress expanding service but there is more work to be done. Upgrades to Rutherford GO is part of the GO Expansion program, which will transform GO rail from a rush-hour service to a more frequent, two-way, all-day rapid transit experience.

We’re making it easier for you to get in and out of the station, no matter how you get to Rutherford.

For drivers we are building a parking structure that will add 1,200 net new covered spaces with direct connections to a new station building.

For pedestrians and cyclists, we’re building a pedestrian bridge over Rutherford Road with dedicated bike lanes on Rutherford to give you more options for getting safely to the station.

The station will also have an upgraded bus loop for more seamless connections to York Region Transit along with an improved passenger pick-up and drop-off area.

Metrolinx is also building a grade separation on Rutherford Road from Westburne Drive to Peter Rupert Avenue that’ll enhance community safety and prevent drivers from having to wait at the rail crossing.
