Scarlett Station and Scarlett portal
A new elevated station on the northwest corner of Scarlett Road and Eglinton Avenue West will provide access to the Eglinton West Trail and existing paths around The Richviews, improving walking and cycling connections to transit. Station entrances on the east and west sides of the intersection will provide easy connections to TTC bus routes 32, 73, 79 and 405.
To the west of the future station is the Scarlett Road portal, located along the north side of Eglinton Avenue West, just west of Scarlett Road. The portal will serve as the transition point between the 1.5-kilometre elevated segment of the line and the western underground portion of the route, which will run west to Renforth Station in Mississauga. The elevated guideway will travel east over the Humber River toward Jane Street, before the line transitions back underground to connect to Mount Dennis Station.
The portal was converted from the extraction shaft, originally used during construction for removing the tunnel boring machines from the ground.
