Metrolinx reintroducing 30-minute all-day service on UP Express
To provide more flexible travel options, Metrolinx is bringing back more UP Express service.
Aug 11, 2021
Starting Aug. 23, UP Express service is increasing to give riders consistent, 30-minute travel times throughout the day.
The increased service gives transit customers more options, seven days a week, in both directions.
There will also be changes to existing schedules to accommodate upcoming track work at Toronto Pearson Station that will help ensure reliable service. UP Express service had been previously reduced due to low ridership during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Here’s what you need to know:
Weekday service:
- The first eastbound trip from Toronto Pearson to Union Station will depart at 5:40 a.m. and trains will run every 30 minutes until the last trip at 10:40 p.m.
- Two late-evening trips in both directions are being added: westbound from Union Station at 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.; and eastbound from Pearson Station at 9:10 p.m. and 10:10 p.m.
