Metrolinx is inviting the local community to learn more about the guideway project currently under construction and the related greenway project at their upcoming virtual open house.
From June 21 to June 28, the community can view an updated PowerPoint presentation on the guideway and greenway and submit questions.
Davenport Diamond guideway construction is in full swing and will continue into 2023, when the project is expected to be completed.
The guideway project will span from approximately Bloor Street West to Davenport Road. It will replace the rail crossing near Dupont Street and carry trains over the Canadian Pacific (CP) tracks, enabling service improvements without worrying about traffic jams between GO trains and freight trains.

The guideway is part of Metrolinx’s GO Expansion program and will allow for future two-way all-day GO service on the Barrie line.
While there is active construction on the guideway right now, Metrolinx knows the community is looking forward to what happens once the guideway is complete.
Metrolinx recently awarded the design contract for the greenway and it is in the early design stages. A number of public elements included in the greenway will enhance the space underneath the guideway and make for an enriched community experience.
