It was the first station on Toronto’s Eglinton Crosstown LRT project to start construction back in early 2016 – and mammoth Keelesdale is still one of the most impressive to see move ahead.

Looking at the most recent construction images from across Crosstown, Keelesdale stands out, even as it comes alive below the city.

The station has begun the first steps of rail installation, with track pads now placed along the platform level. The horizontal steel poles shown in the image below will hold overhead power lines.

To remind you, in addition to the three separate entrances that will provide access in and out of the station, Keelesdale will include an off-street bus loop to serve TTC buses, 60 outdoor bicycle parking spots and a new station plaza that will function as an area for people to meet, gather or relax while waiting for their ride.

The station’s estimated completion date is 2020.

As well, we can see the progress on Caledonia Station, as rebar installation continues as wall construction is ongoing throughout the ‘station box’.

Now onto – and upward – to the bus terminal at Mount Dennis, and as paving work is well underway, you can now imagine customers getting on and off transit vehicles.
