Want to head to Niagara for a wine tour, but don’t want to brave that QEW traffic?
There’s a GO bus for that.
Starting this fall, GO Transit and Wine Rack are launching a Saturday wine tour that will take people from downtown Toronto, to Niagara, and back.
Here’s how it works.
At 9 a.m. passengers board a GO bus at the Union Station Bus Terminal that will go straight to Niagara-on-the-Lake for a stop at either the Jackson-Triggs or Inniskillin winery. Customers should arrive at 8:30 a.m. sharp to check in and board the bus on time.
Trips will run every Saturday, starting Sept. 18 and go until Oct. 16 – except for the Thanksgiving long weekend (Arterra photo)
On the way, riders can enjoy local wine knowledge from the on-board host.
Once you’re at the winery, you’ll enjoy a two-course lunch with wine and then move onto some wine tastings.
You’ll also get a chance to pick up a couple of bottles on the way home at the Wine Rack Outlet Store.
The full-day tour wraps up back in downtown Toronto at 4 p.m.
Tickets are $99 and must be purchased in advance directly from Wine Rack.

Extra excursion info
Don’t worry, it’s not just a regular GO bus taking people to Niagara. There will be an on-board host from Wine Rack leading the journey.
There’s also a chance to win prizes on the bus and everyone goes home with a giftbag, too.
