GO Transit knows how to connect communities across the region.
So GO experts are sharing that expertise by setting up a portable travel kiosk at locations across Toronto. The roving desk looks much like a retro travel agency and is being used to help guide people to some of the most interesting sites across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton area.
The kiosk, which appeared last weekend at Toronto’s Yonge and Dundas Square, will continue to pop up at local sites for the next two weekends. At each location, staff will be offering trip ideas and planning assistance to people looking to make the most of the last few weeks of summer by planning day and weekend trips using GO Transit.

“Prior to the pandemic, we experienced consistent off-peak and weekend GO ridership growth. While the pandemic brought those rates essentially to a standstill, our customers have shared with us they are once again ready to safely travel again for leisure. Now is the perfect time to inspire residents across the region with all the amazing places to explore, many within just minutes of our GO locations.” says Mark Childs, Metrolinx’s chief marketing officer.
A recent study by Destination Ontario has shown that 75 per cent of Ontarians feel safe when thinking about travelling to nearby communities, and most liked the idea of promoting their communities as a travel destination.
“We want to encourage our customers to soak up the rest of summer by getting back to local, safe and affordable travel into and outside Toronto,” explains Childs.
The GO Transit Travel Agency can be found next Saturday (Aug 28) atTrinity Bellwoods Park (790 Queen St. W, Toronto) and the Queens Quay Ferry Terminal (9 Queen’s Quay W., Toronto) the following Saturday (Sep. 5) from 11a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

“Looking for a great place for a hike? Our travel agency might suggest you check out Rouge National Urban Park or Rockwood Conservation Area,” Childs explains. “Want a fun spot to take the kids for the afternoon? We could help direct you to Niagara for the Journey Behind the Falls. And, there are many, many more incredible destinations that GO can take you to.
“Stop by the kiosk and chat with one of our travel agent ambassadors to Find your GO time.”
