Tunnel extraction shaft

The extraction shaft is where Diggy Scardust, the tunnel boring machine (TBM) will end its journey. The site is located at Eglinton and Midland Avenues and will be converted into the tunnel connection to existing Line 2 infrastructure at Kennedy Station.

Work began on the extraction shaft in 2024 and was completed in the summer of 2025.

Diggy is currently tunnelling 6.9-kilometres of the 7.8-kilometre project.
