Line 6 Finch West connects Toronto to more transit

TTC subway, GO buses, Humber Polytechnic and more – Line 6 is part of a bigger transit network.

Dec 12, 2025

Line 6 Finch West (also known as the Finch West LRT) is now open and will transform transit for residents and commuters in northwest Toronto and through the region.

It’s the first brand new transit line in Toronto since the opening of the UP Express in 2015. And it doesn’t stop there. Transit is expanding, now. With the 30-day “dry-run” known as revenue service demonstration complete, Line 5 Eglinton has reached substantial completion — major construction is also underway on a number of new lines like the extension of Line 5 further west, the Hazel McCallion Line, and the Ontario Line subway, just to name a few!

Each of these projects adds to a growing network of connected lines, expanding travel choices and improving mobility across the region. And when it’s combined with a simple, consistent way to pay like PRESTO – transit becomes an easy choice.

But what is Line 6 Finch West? It’s a nearly11-kilometre light rail line linking Humber College Station in the west to Finch West Station in the east. With 18 stations and stops, it will provide faster, more reliable service along one of Toronto’s busiest corridors and offer connections to TTC Line 1, GO Transit, MiWay, Zum, York Region Transit, and Brampton Transit.

Here are just a few of the new transit connections coming online with Line 6:

  • On the east side of the line, Finch West Station will connect riders directly to TTC Line 1 subway service
  • On the west side of the line, Humber College Station connects customers to Humber Polytechnic, Etobicoke General hospital and local and regional transit systems

The region’s transit system isn’t expanding in the future, it’s expanding now. The scale of progress is massive and can be seen across the region. Line 6 is part of a bigger plan to rewire the region by making more trips possible on public transit – including journeys out of Toronto.
