To understand the way people will move in the future, it’s always good to see things in motion.

Metrolinx has created a video overview of the Hurontario light rail transit (LRT) project. It contains updates on upcoming construction work and a timeline of the different phases.

But what’s perhaps more interesting, is a flyover that sets the stage for the line that will connect Brampton and Mississauga, as well as some cool renderings of what neighbourhoods will look like once the LRT comes online.

Keep in mind, those renderings, along with some construction images, were created before COVID-19 changed social distancing and the face coverings most of us now walk around with.

But the video 101 explanation of the LRT route – more commonly called the HuLRT – is still a nicely packaged glimpse at what the 18 kilometres of work looks like now, and what it will bring in the future.
