Eglinton Crosstown LRT tunnels were finished in 2016 - now digging machines are surfacing.

This is the best boring video you’ll see during self-isolation.

We’ve recently featured stories and images of the last two tunnel boring machines – nick-named Dennis and Lea – being brought up from deep below the surface of Toronto. The pair, among four used for the Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit project, were responsible for digging through rock and earth, to create the underground path for the future transit route.

Now we have a video that frames that work, and the job to pull Dennis and Lea out of the pits, nicely.

Note that elements of the video were shot before social distancing became the norm for all of us.
