An escalator is lowered into the construction site for Science Centre Station by a giant crane.

Stairway to Transit Heaven

Take a look at some of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT progress currently being made.

Jul 2, 2019

We kick off the week with a fascinating discovery at Science Centre Station.

While it’s still a construction site, a recent milestone is the first step in getting transit users underground and on their way.

Science Centre Station is the 15th underground station going east on the Crosstown Progress tour. Located at the intersection of Don Mills Road and Eglinton Avenue East, Science Centre Station will be a mobility hub, linking passengers to a bus terminal that will include seven bus bays for TTC bus connections.

Kennedy Station is either the last or first stop of the Crosstown LRT – depending on where you want to go. Work is really coming along on the station as summer weather heats up, so to does the construction.

Once complete, Kennedy Station will be a mobility hub, connecting to the GO Transit Stouffville Line, a TTC bus terminal and the TTC’s Lines 2 and 3. The station will have four station entrances, 40 outdoor and 80 indoor bicycle parking spaces and retail space on the concourse level within both the fare-paid and non-fare-paid zones.
