Metrolinx is teaming up with Black Engineers of Canada (BEC) to help bring more diverse perspectives to transit building.

The provincial transit agency and BEC will be holding an exclusive virtual recruitment event on June 23.

The one-hour session will give people a chance to learn more about everything from working at Metrolinx, the exciting transit projects underway, and current job openings.

Want to attend the event? Sign up here.

It’s also a chance for people to ask industry professionals questions about their experience working at Metrolinx.

“We are pleased that Metrolinx is identifying with our mission to develop pathways to excellence for Black engineers and engineering graduates in Canada,” said Ayo Abiola, P.Eng, director of membership and communications, Black Engineers of Canada.

“This event will be one of many collaborations with Metrolinx, as they implement Ontario’s transportation strategies.”

Right now, Metrolinx is working on implementing the largest transit investment in Ontario’s history, with $75 billion in projects in planning underway, including the GO Expansion program, the four priority subway projects, as well as light rail projects in Toronto, Peel Region and Hamilton.

As Metrolinx continues to work on bringing more transit throughout the region, there’s no better time to focus on getting the right people on board.
