Metrolinx holding Davenport Diamond guideway & greenway events

Metrolinx knows the community has questions about these projects. Find out how to get involved.

May 26, 2021

Metrolinx is inviting the local community to learn more about the Davenport Diamond Guideway currently in construction and the associated greenway project at an upcoming virtual event.

Davenport Diamond guideway construction is in full swing and will continue into 2023. The guideway, a type of railway bridge, will span approximately from Bloor Street West to north of Davenport Road in west Toronto.

It will replace the rail crossing near Dupont Street and carry trains over the Canadian Pacific (CP) tracks, enabling service improvements without worrying about traffic jams between GO Trains and freight trains.

This project is part of Metrolinx’s GO Expansion program and will allow for future two-way all-day GO service on the Barrie line.

Metrolinx recently awarded the design contract for the greenway and it is in the early design stages. A number of public elements included in the greenway will enhance the community space underneath the guideway. Click here to read our latest blog post about this project.

Metrolinx is hosting a virtual live event on June 1, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. to provide updates on both the guideway and greenway.
