Metrolinx gets loud and proud at the 2023 Toronto Pride Parade

Over 100 Metrolinx employees marched down Yonge Street for one of the city’s biggest celebrations

Jun 26, 2023

Yesterday (June 25), Metrolinx employees came out in even larger numbers than the previous year – almost double, which included the transit agency’s Pride 365 committee and Metrolinx President and CEO Phil Verster.

Staff were accompanied by a Pride-themed EV GO Bus which rolled down Yonge Street as one of the largest vehicles in the parade.

The bus was wrapped earlier this month and was surrounded by staff wearing their colourful “Ride with Pride” shirts.

The crowd-favourite GO Bear led the delegation, showing off a new Pride-themed costume and taking selfies with his fans.

The sunny afternoon was focused on celebrating inclusion and diversity, two very important values for the transit agency and its employees. To convey the importance of these values the new bus wrap states “Pride. Every Day. Always.”

A sentiment Metrolinx stands by as the transit agency is committed to always ensuring a safe and inclusive ride for all, year round.
