Improvements to Maple GO Station are underway

Metrolinx is delivering on the commitment to bring two-way all-day train service on the Barrie Line.

Metrolinx is delivering on the commitment to bring two-way all-day GO Train service to the Barrie Line.

On Saturday, June 17 and Sunday, the 18th there will be no GO Train service on the Barrie Line, due to weekend construction. Shuttle buses will be available to get you where you need to go.

During construction buses will replace trains on the Barrie GO Line. Here are just a few of the things moving forward this weekend.

Maple GO Station

Upgrades at the current station are needed to accommodate the new west platform and tracks.

Across from Simcoe Street and Lindenshire Avenue in Vaughan, tracks will be temporarily removed to install sanitary and storm sewer connections, before being put back in place. Near Ridgefield Crescent, a new railway switch will be installed.

Davenport Bridge

Rehabilitation work on the bridge over Davenport Road in Toronto will include restoration, deck waterproofing, expansion joint installation and approach slab installation.

Aurora Culvert

A new culvert will be installed under the tracks in Aurora. Work will include installation of panels that are 80 feet long.

Shuttle Bus Service

Shuttle buses will connect commuters between the Union Station Bus Terminal, Rutherford, Maple, King City, Aurora, Newmarket and East Gwillimbury GO stations.

The weekend shuttle bus service will include express runs to Aurora GO. Some shuttle bus trips will run express between Allandale Waterfront GO, Barrie South GO and the Union Station Bus Terminal.

The GO Expansion plan will provide more service with faster trains and seamless connections to a regional rapid transit network.
