Hovering above the massive LRT Maintenance and Storage Facility
Take a look down at Toronto, as the Finch West light rail transit (LRT) route takes shape.

Work on the Finch Avenue West light rail transit route continues, and we have some recent and revealing remote drone shots. They include images taken while over traffic changes and excavation.
Here’s a current traffic set up at Keele St. and Finch Ave. W. Drilling, wet utility relocation and excavation is ongoing. (Metrolinx photo)
Excavation continues on the south east corner of Keele St. and Finch Ave. W. as part of the future Finch West Station. (Metrolinx photo)
But the two photos we find ourselves lingering over are those from high above the new MSF, which will be home to the light rail vehicles. Located at 50 York Gate Boulevard, the MSF will be a 10,000 sq. metre facility with a capacity of 26 LRVs.
Here’s one of those progress picture of the MSF. Work in the interior of the building is ongoing now. This is the view from Norfinch Dr. (Metrolinx photo)
It includes a main shop, vehicle wash facility, material storage building, administrative office and 122 parking spots.
And here’s the view of the roof. You can also see installed tracks. (Metrolinx photo)
The MSF will also be the place the vehicles are inspected and worked on. From the main structure, tracks will run both east and west.
So things continue to look up – as we can see from looking down – on the new Toronto rapid transit route.
