What is Happening?

The Phase Two Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) to be initiated at the property located at 7967 Yonge Street is to support the Yonge North Subway Extension Project. This phase assesses the environmental conditions of the soil and groundwater. The work involves drilling boreholes and installing monitoring wells to collect soil and groundwater samples for analysis. Residents may experience brief periods of increased noise during the drilling process. Noise and vibration levels will be closely monitored, and measures will be taken to reduce disturbances where necessary. During this work crews will be on-site with a truck or track-mounted drilling rig, hand tools, equipment, and drums for storing groundwater. Prior to drilling, underground utilities will be marked using spray paint based on consultation with private and public utility locators and on-site scanning for underground utilities with equipment.
