What is Happening?
To support planning and design work for the Yonge North Subway Extension, crews working on behalf of Metrolinx will be carrying out geotechnical and hydrogeological investigations at 5760 Yonge Street. Geotechnical investigations involve drilling holes into the ground - commonly referred to as 'boreholes' to collect samples that provide important data on soil and other underground conditions. Hydrogeological investigations include ground water level monitoring, and decommissioning monitoring wells.
What to expect
Crews will take precautions to monitor and reduce dust.
Increased presence of construction vehicles and equipment can be expected in the work area.
Work areas will be clearly marked or fenced off to ensure public safety.
Work may be delayed or rescheduled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
Traffic Changes

- Pedestrian detours may be required, with signs in place to direct pedestrians as needed.
