What is Happening?
We are building a new Ontario Line subway station and elevated guideway on Overlea Boulevard and Thorncliffe Park Drive. On September 28, 2026, crews will begin trenching and installing a dewatering system within the fenced construction areas near Millwood Road and Overlea Boulevard. This system will remove water that is collected during excavation and piling for the station and guideway foundation work. Water that is removed from excavations will be pumped and stored into a tank to be treated. A connection from the tank to the local storm sewer will be created to allow for treated water to be safely released into the storm sewer. Work includes asphalt cutting and removal, excavation, water pipe connection installation, backfilling, and roadway restoration.
