- In late July 2026, Metrolinx contractors will begin site preparation including building a temporary access worksite at Millwood Road and Overlea Boulevard for the construction of guideway foundations and substructure in this area.
- An access gate will be installed along the west side of Millwood Road, north of Overlea Boulevard to manage construction vehicle entry and secure the work site.
- To safely complete this work, there will be a partial southbound bike lane closure on Millwood Road before Overlea Boulevard, with traffic barrels in place to separate the work area from vehicular traffic.

What is Happening?
What to expect
- Construction of the access worksite is expected to take approximately four weeks and construction activities will occur within the site until late 2028.
- Excavation and grading of the site to provide stable ground for construction equipment.
- Compaction to achieve required surface strength, stability, and erosion control.
- Temporary fencing will be installed along the perimeter of the construction zone.
- Gates will be installed to manage unauthorized vehicles and equipment access to the work site.
- Short-term traffic and cycling interruptions can be expected during trucks and equipment movements into and from the site.
- Construction vehicles and equipment will enter and exit the site from Millwood Road through the new access gates.
- Work may be delayed, rescheduled, or extended due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
- Access roads will be removed once construction activities are complete, and the area will be restored with topsoil and seed/sod.
