What is Happening?

The intersection of Gertrude and Muriel is being reconfigured to improve the sound wall, further restore the road, and improve pedestrian circulation. Gertrude Place may be closed for up to 5 minutes while asphalt trucks access the restricted area from Pape Avenue. Paid duty officers and traffic flaggers will be in place to safely direct vehicles and pedestrians.

What to expect

  • Work areas will be clearly marked or fenced off to ensure public safety.
  • Please exercise caution around active construction sites.
  • Work may be delayed or rescheduled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.

Traffic Changes

  • Gertrude Place will be reduced for periods of time during the work. Signage will redirect traffic around the work zones.
  • A paid duty officer, flaggers and detour signs will be onsite to direct traffic as needed.

Pedestrian Access

  • Pedestrian detours may be required, with signs in place to direct pedestrians as needed.

Noise and Vibration

  • Residences and businesses in the area may experience noise and vibration caused by construction equipment related to this work.
  • Crews will take measures to minimize disruptions to the surrounding area wherever possible.

Transit Service

  • There is no anticipated impact to transit services.
