Construction is underway at Ordnance Triangle Park for an Ontario Line emergency exit building (EEB), located between Exhibition and King-Bathurst stations.
Work has progressed to the next phase, which includes completing permanent works within the shaft, installing retaining walls along the north and south sides of the site, and backfilling portions of the land as construction advances.

What is Happening?
What to expect
- Where possible, lights from equipment will be positioned away from residential homes to keep light pollution levels low.
- Crews will take precautions to monitor and reduce dust.
- Work areas will be clearly marked or fenced off to ensure public safety.
- Work may be delayed or rescheduled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
- Rebar installation, waterproofing, formwork, and concrete pouring will continue to shape the structure, including construction of emergency stairwells connecting track level to the surface and above-grade level.
- Once underground levels are complete, the tower crane will be removed and replaced with a temporary mobile crane until building completion.
- Retaining wall construction will take place along the eastern perimeter of the site to support future public space and allow for backfilling (see map above).
- Backfilling of the site will occur as the retaining wall is completed.
- Construction vehicles will continue to use the Metrolinx access road (east of Strachan Avenue, north of Ordnance Street), parallel to the Kitchener, Milton, Barrie and UP Express rail corridor.
- Neighbours will see equipment on site including a tower crane, mobile crane, excavators, loaders, concrete trucks, pump trucks, and dump trucks.
- Some noise from construction activities is expected. Measures are in place to reduce impacts to nearby residents and businesses, including monitoring air quality, noise, and vibration.
- Mitigations are in place to limit the impact of debris and dirt on city streets.
- Crews may arrive on site earlier to prepare machinery and equipment.
- All construction schedules are subject to change and weather permitting.
- All necessary permits have been obtained.
