What is Happening?
As early as March 23, 2026, crews will be on-site in the laneway east of Pape Ave. to
demolish the garage at 421 Pape Ave., following an inspection that concluded the structure
was in poor condition.
After determining the structure was unsafe, we cordoned off the area to prevent people from
entering. This will result in disruptions to pedestrians and vehicles during regular work hours.
What to expect
- The driveway on the Laneway that provides access to east of Pape Ave will be closed for the duration of the work.
- Increased presence of construction vehicles and equipment can be expected in the work area.
- Please exercise caution around active construction sites.
Traffic Changes
- Minor delays may be experienced near the work zone.
- The centre lane at X and Y intersection will be closed between these dates
Pedestrian Access
- Pedestrian detours may be required, with signs in place to direct pedestrians as needed.
Noise and Vibration
- Crews will take measures to minimize disruptions to the surrounding area wherever possible.
Transit Service
- There is no anticipated impact to transit services.
