New west-end station connects customers to three transit options.
Oct. 31 – Transit riders will have more options to get where they’re going as Mount Dennis GO and UP Station gets set to open this fall.
The station opens on Nov. 16, connecting customers to Kitchener Line GO trains, Union Pearson Express trains and TTC bus service. Mount Dennis GO and UP Station will also offer a direct connection to Line 5 Eglinton (Eglinton Crosstown) when the new light rail line opens.
Mount Dennis is the first station to connect GO Transit, TTC and UP Express at a single station. Construction is underway at Bloor GO Station to build a tunnel connecting GO and UP customers to TTC Line 2 service at Dundas West Station.
With One Fare, customers only pay once when transferring between TTC and GO Transit using PRESTO.
New GO and UP Express options
All existing GO train trips on the Kitchener Line will stop at Mount Dennis GO and UP Station. Customers will soon have daily access to:
- 64 weekday train trips (non-express), with trains running every 30 minutes
- 32 weekend train trips (non-express), with trains running every 60 minutes
Recently announced GO service increases on the Kitchener Line start Nov. 23, giving customers more train times to make their commute more convenient.
Local transit benefits
Customers can travel to Union Station in 16 minutes from Mount Dennis GO and UP Station.
For those looking to get to Toronto Pearson Airport, all existing UP Express train trips will serve Bloor, Weston and Mount Dennis stations. A trip to Pearson Airport from Mount Dennis GO and UP Station also takes only 16 minutes.
- UP Express trains operate every 15 minutes from approximately 5 a.m. to 1 a.m. on weekdays and 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. on weekends.
Cedarvale opening
Metrolinx will also open an underground pedestrian walkway at the TTC’s Line 1 Eglinton West Station, located at Allen Road and Eglinton Avenue West. Eglinton West Station will be renamed Cedarvale Station once Line 5 Eglinton opens.
Pedestrians can access the station via:
- the main station entrance west of Allen Road
- the secondary entrance east of Allen Road beneath Eglinton Avenue West
- a third entrance connecting to the TTC’s Line 1 Eglinton West Station
Customers can access the station underground instead of crossing multiple lanes of traffic, improving convenience and safety.
Each new station brings the GO network closer together, making travel more seamless and reliable. With Mount Dennis set to become a major hub in Toronto, the future of a connected, accessible transit network continues to take shape.
