Kitchener Line GO Expansion

Sept. 21 – Major construction is underway at Woodbine GO Station in north Etobicoke. 

Located on Highway 27 between the existing Etobicoke North and Malton GO stations, Woodbine GO Station will connect customers to the Kitchener Line, UP Express and local transit services, offering riders improved access to Pearson International Airport, Union Station, Humber Polytechnic and Woodbine Racetrack. 

This significant addition to Toronto’s transit network is set to become one of the city’s busiest transit stations and will enable the addition of a new fourth track and signalling upgrades to unlock more service on the Kitchener Line.  

Early construction work at Woodbine GO Station began last year.  

Work is now underway to build the station’s platforms, which includes excavation and pouring of concrete foundations, and installation of utilities and future snow melt systems in the coming months.  

Woodbine GO Station is expected to service up to 7,000 daily riders by 2051, with trains arriving as frequently as every 15 minutes during rush hours. 

The station is part of Metrolinx’s plan to expand GO service and is being delivered in partnership with the Province of Ontario and Woodbine Entertainment Group, to provide a new transit option at a vibrant entertainment and employment hub in a rapidly growing community.
