Future transit station will bring service to Etobicoke entertainment hub.
June 26 – The Ontario government and Metrolinx are partnering with Woodbine Entertainment Group to build a new transit station on the Kitchener GO Line in north Etobicoke.
Early construction work is underway on Woodbine GO Station, located on Highway 27 between the existing Etobicoke North and Malton GO stations. The new station will connect customers to GO Transit and UP Express services, offering riders access to Pearson International Airport, Union Station in downtown Toronto, Humber Polytechnic and Woodbine Racetrack, a major sporting and entertainment destination.
As Metrolinx works to expand two-way, all-day GO train service on the Kitchener Line, Woodbine GO could see trains arrive at the station as frequently as every 15 minutes during the busiest travel hours.
Woodbine Station, which will replace Etobicoke North Station, will provide a new fourth track and signalling upgrades to enable more service on the Kitchener Line. The new station is expected to serve approximately 7,000 daily riders by 2041, significantly increasing connections and ridership levels on the Kitchener corridor.

Construction activities
Earlier this year, crews started early work along the inner Kitchener corridor by clearing sites and grubbing, removing overhead utilities and carrying out grading and excavation work.
In June 2025, Metrolinx awarded a contract to complete the next phase of construction, including deep sewer and underground utility works, realigning Entrance Road and preparing for a future track diversion to accommodate the platform at Woodbine station.
With construction underway, Metrolinx is one step closer to bringing new, reliable transit service to the region, connecting more people to stations and stops across the network.
