How Metrolinx is preparing
We’re getting ready across the transit system for more riders and busier travel times, including:
- Increasing staff at key stations
- New signage and wayfinding information
- More fare payment devices to reduce lineups
- Enhancing coordination with Toronto Police, TTC and City of Toronto
- Preparing stations and facilities to manage larger crowds
- Adding more GO train service on the Lakeshore lines
We’re constantly monitoring crowding at stations and on platforms and will adjust train times where we can to support safes travel. All of this work is to help keep service running safely and smoothly throughout the FIFA World Cup 2026™ Toronto.
