What is Happening?

To prepare for future Scarborough Subway Extension construction, piling activities will be taking place within the work zone on Eglinton Avenue East near Winter Avenue. An additional lane closure will be implemented and remain in place from Friday at 7:00 p.m. to Monday at 7:00 a.m. This additional lane closure is needed as a safety requirement due to the location of the piling activity and will reduce the eastbound traffic to a single lane. Completing the work on the weekend minimizes traffic impacts.

Piling is the process of inserting concrete columns into the ground to reinforce the soil.
