Durham College Oshawa GO Station
We’re upgrading the station to support future service improvements
Durham region is growing, and we’re investing in the transit infrastructure needed to keep people moving.
As part of work to expand GO, we’re making upgrades to Durham College Oshawa GO Station to support more frequent GO service, improve connections with local transit, and create an accessible station for customers.
Durham College Oshawa GO Station is the last stop on the eastern end of the Lakeshore East GO . Located in Oshawa near Durham College, Ontario Tech University, and Highway 401, the station is an important transportation hub for students, commuters, residents, and visitors.
This project will modernize the station with upgraded rail infrastructure and customer amenities, while preparing the corridor for future electrification and connection to the future Bowmanville Extension.
Upgrades to Durham College Oshawa GO Station are currently underway. For more information on project phases, please check out our project lifecycle page.

Project overview
We're upgrading the station with new infrastructure to create a modern, accessible, and comfortable experience for customers. Station improvements include:
- A new north platform with canopy and snow-melting technology
- Extension and restoration of the existing south platform
- New east and west pedestrian bridges to improve station access
- A new bus loop with a temporary bus loop operating during construction to maintain transit connections
To support future service improvements along the Lakeshore East corridor, we're building new rail infrastructure, including:
- Two new tracks on either side of the new north platform
- A new crossover connection to support future operations for the Bowmanville Extension
- New retaining walls
- New drainage and stormwater management systems
- Cable containment and foundations for future electrification
Construction is being delivered in phases to allow the station to remain open while work progresses. Throughout construction, customers can expect temporary changes to parking, bus operations, pedestrian routes, and station access.
Metrolinx will provide advance notice of significant changes and work closely with the community to help customers safely navigate the station during construction.
