Sept. 1 - Major construction is underway on upgrades at Durham College Oshawa GO Station.

As part of GO Expansion, these upgrades will support more frequent service, improve connections with local transit, and provide a more modern, accessible station for customers.

Located near Durham College, Ontario Tech University, and Highway 401, Durham College Oshawa GO Station is an important transportation hub serving students, commuters, and residents. Modernizing the station will support the region's continued growth while enhancing customer experience and accessibility.

The station upgrades will not only improve rail capacity and strengthen connections between GO Transit and local transit across Durham region, but will also prepare the corridor for future electrification and the Bowmanville Extension.

Station benefits

Once complete, the expanded Durham College Oshawa GO Station will feature:

  • A new north platform with a canopy and snow-melting technology
  • Extension and restoration of the existing south platform
  • New east and west pedestrian bridges to improve station access
  • A new bus loop, with a temporary bus loop operating during construction
  • Two new tracks on either side of the new island platform
  • A new crossover connection to support future operations for the Bowmanville Extension
  • New retaining walls, drainage and stormwater management systems
  • Cable containment and foundations for future electrification infrastructure

Preliminary work began last year in December 2025 to prepare the site for major construction. With the contract awarded, crews will continue work across the station, including site mobilization, utility relocations, and construction of new infrastructure.

Construction will continue in phases, allowing the station to remain open while work progresses. Metrolinx will continue to communicate with the community and customers to ensure they are aware of construction impacts.
