Paton Road underpass opens in the Junction Triangle
A new connection for pedestrians and cyclists under the Davenport Diamond Guideway.
Jan 15, 2026
The Paton Road underpass in Toronto’s Junction Triangle is now open to pedestrians and cyclists, providing a convenient connection as construction continues on the Davenport Diamond Greenway.
The underpass will be open from Jan. 15, 2026 until fall 2026, in response to feedback from the community. It will then close to complete remaining work.
As the underpass is located by an active construction zone, safety remains a top priority. Pedestrians and cyclists must always stay on the designated pathway and follow posted signage.
During the temporary opening, intermittent closures may still be required to accommodate construction work. Advance notice will be shared to allow residents to plan ahead.

This underpass is part of the Davenport Diamond Greenway, a new public green space being built in west Toronto. It is located beneath the elevated portion of the Barrie Line between Bloor Street West and Davenport Road, bringing new gathering spaces and improved connectivity to the neighbourhood.
Once construction of the greenway is complete, the City of Toronto will determine the official opening including the underpass. Dates will be shared closer to that time.

The Davenport Diamond Greenway is part of Metrolinx’s broader GO Expansion program, which will bring more GO train service and better transit connections to the region.
