As part of ongoing work on the Davenport Diamond Greenway project, crews will begin excavation and installation works beneath the Paton Road overpass. These works include excavations, the installation of underground conduits, lighting and power connections, beacon wayfinding, bollards (pedestrian protection barriers), and benches, and other activities as deemed necessary.
Throughout construction, there will be no disruption in vehicle or pedestrian traffic along the east and west sides of Paton Road. Pedestrian access via the underpass itself will be closed from the start of this work until 2027 to allow for other necessary construction activities for the Davenport Diamond Greenway.
