What is Happening?

As part of ongoing work on the Davenport Diamond Greenway project, crews will facilitate the delivery of materials into the Barrie GO rail corridor to prepare for future bridge installation. Bridge materials will be brought through Campbell Avenue via Dupont Street. Flaggers will be in place to minimize impact on traffic and ensure public safety. The use of a boom truck and other vehicles will temporarily block access to 350 Campbell Avenue.

What to expect

  • Trucks and construction equipment may generate dust during construction.

  • Crews will take precautions to monitor and reduce dust.

  • The driveway on Campbell Avenue that provides access to 350 Campbell Avenue will be closed for the duration of the work.

  • Access to 1444 Dupont Street will remain available via the driveway on Campbell Avenue.

  • Increased presence of construction vehicles and equipment can be expected in the work area.

  • Work areas will be clearly marked or fenced off to ensure public safety.

  • Please exercise caution around active construction sites.

  • Work may be delayed or rescheduled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.

  • Trucks leaving the site will use Campbell Avenue.

  • Trucks entering the site will use Campbell Avenue.

  • Trucks will stage outside the site at the access point at Campbell Avenue.

  • Mud mats and a wheel wash system are installed to prevent debris from being tracked onto public roads.

Traffic Changes

  • Minor delays may be experienced near the work zone.
  • A paid duty officer, flaggers and detour signs will be onsite to direct traffic as needed.
  • All businesses in the area will remain open during the work. Please follow signage for access.

Pedestrian Access

  • Pedestrian detours may be required, with signs in place to direct pedestrians as needed.
  • Clear and defined walking paths will be maintained during construction to ensure pedestrian safety.

Noise and Vibration

  • Residences and businesses in the area may experience noise and vibration caused by construction equipment related to this work.
  • Crews will take measures to minimize disruptions to the surrounding area wherever possible.
  • Trucks accessing the site will be equipped with broadband backup alarms, which emit a less disruptive sound compared to traditional beeping backup alarms.

Transit Service

  • There is no anticipated impact to transit services.
