To support state of good repair work, Metrolinx crews will be performing rail maintenance work along the Barrie Line using a specialized rail milling machine. Rail milling removes surface defects and restores the rail head profile, by improving wheel rail contact and extending rail life. Work will begin near Highway 7 and proceed in stages south along the Barrie Line to Wilson Ave. with crews occupying one work area at a time. The work will primarily take place overnight when trains are not in service, and during planned major track closures (MTCs) on the Barrie Line, through the weekend of August 15-August 20.

- Trucks leaving the site will use existing access points .
- Trucks entering the site will use existing access points.
- Truck activity is expected to be limited and will primarily occur overnight or during planned major track closures, using existing access points to remove residue from the work area

- All pedestrian sidewalks will remain open throughout the work.
