Metrolinx’s GO Expansion program is delivering more GO service across the network, including trains every 15 minutes or better on the Lakeshore West line.

To help support this work, Metrolinx is upgrading our rail network to enable more frequent and fully accessible service, including accessibility and amenity upgrades to Toronto’s Mimico GO Station, to help serve you better.

(concept subject to change during the design process)

Metrolinx will deliver planned improvements at Mimico GO Station that will bring the station up to current accessibility standards and deliver a better customer experience.

  • A new east tunnel with elevator and stair access to the platform level and a new west tunnel
  • Refurbished platforms
  • New building entrances on the north and south sides of the rail corridor

The upgrades will also include provisions for all-day, two-way rail service.

Metrolinx also partnered with a private real estate developer to help build the new Mimico station. Mixed-use Transit Oriented Development (TOD) is proven to increase ridership, promote other modes of access to our stations, and optimize use of transit lands.

The developer will construct:

  • New main station building, including elevator and stair access to platform level
  • Dedicated GO parking
  • A multi-use path connecting to the station
