Sewer work will be underway in the northbound lanes of University Avenue north of Front Street West and eastbound lanes of Front Street West. The work includes installing two new storm mains and a double catch basin. Aging piping infrastructure will also be removed during this work.
The road and sidewalk closures will be sequential starting on University Avenue and then shifting to Front Street West to mitigate traffic and pedestrian impacts.

What is Happening?

Traffic Changes
- University Avenue and Front Street West will be reduced for the duration of the work. Signage will redirect traffic around the work zones.
- Two-way directional traffic will be maintained during the work.
- A paid duty officer, flaggers and detour signs will be onsite to direct traffic as needed.
- All businesses in the area will remain open during the work. Please follow signage for access.
Pedestrian Access
- Temporary sidewalk closures or pedestrian detours will be in place while the work is underway, with signs in place to direct pedestrians as needed.
Noise and Vibration
- Residences and businesses in the area may experience noise and vibration caused by construction equipment related to this work.
- Crews will take measures to minimize disruptions to the surrounding area wherever possible.
