Location of works within the railway corridor near King Street W and Strachan Avenue

What is Happening?

From April 17-20 and again from May 15-18, we will be working within the railway corridor to remove tracks and stockpiled materials. We will also need to skim the ballast (the stones and material under the rails and sleepers) and install drainage basins. The Kitchener Line will be closed during these weekends.

What to expect

  • Construction lighting may be visible from the work site.
  • Where possible, lights from equipment will be positioned away from residential homes to keep light pollution levels low.
  • Trucks and construction equipment may generate dust during construction.
  • Crews will take precautions to monitor and reduce dust.
  • Increased presence of construction vehicles and equipment can be expected in the work area.
  • Please exercise caution around active construction sites.

Traffic Changes

  • No disruptions to traffic are anticipated.

Pedestrian Access

  • All pedestrian sidewalks will remain open throughout the work.

Noise and Vibration

  • Residences and businesses in the area may experience noise and vibration caused by construction equipment related to this work.
