Metrolinx is carrying out major rehabilitation work under the Etobicoke Creek Railway Bridge, just west of Long Branch GO Station. This work is critical to maintaining safe and reliable service on the Lakeshore West Line. These closures are required to accommodate construction material, increased crew size, additional equipment, machinery and multiple work areas for a major concrete pour.
Where possible, lights from equipment will be positioned away from residential homes to keep light pollution levels low.
Crews will take precautions to monitor and reduce dust.
Increased presence of construction vehicles and equipment can be expected in the work area.
Work areas will be clearly marked or fenced off to ensure public safety.
Please exercise caution around active construction sites.
Work may be delayed or rescheduled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
There will be no access under the bridge during the closure.
