Confederation GO opens and more Lakeshore West Line service

We’re adding trips and expanding train service across the GO network this fall.

On Oct. 27, Confederation GO will officially open on the Lakeshore West Line, offering customers in Hamilton and Niagara more convenient access to GO rail service.  

Confederation GO will offer riders a total of 13 weekday and 15 weekend train trips, along with continued service from GO bus routes 11 and 12. 

All existing Lakeshore West trips serving Niagara Falls will stop at Confederation GO. Select trips to and from West Harbour GO will also extend to serve Confederation GO.  

Station features include: 

  • A fully accessible heated island platform with weather-protective canopies 
  • A pedestrian tunnel for easier platform access 
  • A pick-up/drop-off area with space for 15 vehicles 
  • 148 new parking spots 
  • Direct pedestrian stair access from the platform to Centennial Parkway

More service for Lakeshore West and the GO network 

In addition to new Confederation GO service, we’re also adjusting service on the Lakeshore West Line starting Oct. 27:  

We’re extending six select trips previously to and from Oakville GO to serve Appleby GO and Bronte GO.  

We’re also adjusting schedules to better reflect actual travel times.   

Plus, starting Nov. 1, weekend service will increase on the Lakeshore West Line to Niagara with two new trips between Union and Niagara Falls GO. 

Updated schedules are available on GOTransit.com; be sure to look at them in advance and plan your trip ahead of time.  

Additional GO train service enhancements starting Oct. 27:  

Lakeshore East: Six new rush hour trips between Oshawa or Whitby and Union Station.  

Barrie Line: Two new peak trips between Aurora GO and Union Station.  

Stouffville Line:Two new peak trips between Unionville GO and Union Station. 

These changes reflect our commitment to improving service reliability, meeting the needs of commuters and building a connected region.
