Progress continues on the East Harbour Transit Hub
New station will connect GO Transit and the Ontario Line subway in Toronto’s east end.
May 28, 2026
A few months ago, crews started construction on the East Harbour Transit Hub’s main station building.
Since then, major progress has been made. Installation of the grade beams and pier caps is now complete, and crews have started pouring concrete for the station columns.

Platform canopies are also going up, which will provide shelter from the weather while future customers wait for trains.

Looking ahead, crews are continuing work on station electrical systems and installing manholes. They’re also preparing the track foundation and will soon begin building formwork for the platforms, bringing this new hub one step closer to reality.
Once complete, the East Harbour Transit Hub will make it easier for customers to connect between GO Transit and the future Ontario Line subway without having to transfer through Union Station – improving connectivity and easing congestion across the network.
