The construction zone is identifiedas east of Lewis Street on Eastern Avenue.

What is Happening?

Construction crews will be reconfiguring this site to accommodate additional temporary parking for onsite workers. 

What to expect

  • Where possible, lights from equipment will be positioned away from residential homes to keep light pollution levels low.
  • Trucks and construction equipment may generate dust during construction.
  • Increased presence of construction vehicles and equipment can be expected in the work area.
  • Trucks will stage inside the work site and will not stage outside of the site boundaries
  • Mud mats and a wheel wash system are installed to prevent debris from being tracked onto public roads.
  • A hydrovac truck will be used during day time hours to install fencing for a period of 3-5 days. Dates to be confirmed closer to work starting.

Traffic Changes

  • Minor delays may be experienced near the work zone.

Pedestrian Access

  • All pedestrian sidewalks will remain open throughout the work.
  • Pedestrian detours may be required, with signs in place to direct pedestrians as needed.

Noise and Vibration

  • Residences and businesses in the area may experience noise and vibration caused by construction equipment related to this work.
  • Crews will take measures to minimize disruptions to the surrounding area wherever possible.

  • To minimize noise impacts on the community, noise monitoring equipment will be installed prior to construction. These devices will help to detect exceedances early to proactively conduct corrective actions as needed while crews work.

  • Noise barrier walls will be installed to dampen and reduce noise from construction.
  • Trucks accessing the site will be equipped with broadband backup alarms, which emit a less disruptive sound compared to traditional beeping backup alarms.
