What is Happening?
As part of preparatory work for the future St. Clair–Old Weston Station, crews will be working within the rail corridor to complete several important activities including surveys, haul road grading, maintenance of geotechnical monitors, site utility relocation, and other work as required.
Work will take place continuously, day and night, along the Kitchener GO Line from 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026, to Monday, August 17, 2025, at 3:00 a.m.
What to expect
- Construction lighting may be visible from the work site.
- Where possible, lights from equipment will be positioned away from residential homes to keep light pollution levels low.
- Trucks and construction equipment may generate dust during construction.
- Crews will take precautions to monitor and reduce dust.
- Increased presence of construction vehicles and equipment can be expected in the work area.
- Work areas will be clearly marked or fenced off to ensure public safety.
- Please exercise caution around active construction sites.
- Work may be delayed or rescheduled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
Traffic Changes
- No disruptions to traffic are anticipated.
Pedestrian Access
- All pedestrian sidewalks will remain open throughout the work.
Noise and Vibration
- Residences and businesses in the area may experience noise and vibration caused by construction equipment related to this work.
- Crews will take measures to minimize disruptions to the surrounding area wherever possible.
- To minimize noise impacts on the community, noise monitoring equipment will be installed prior to construction. These devices will help to detect exceedances early to proactively conduct corrective actions as needed while crews work.
- Trucks accessing the site will be equipped with broadband backup alarms, which emit a less disruptive sound compared to traditional beeping backup alarms.

- There is no anticipated impact to transit services.
