As part of the GO Expansion Program, Metrolinx is conducting preparatory work for the future Stockyards (formerly St. Clair-Old Weston) Station. Crews will be demolishing a portion of the St. Clair Bridge on St. Clair Avenue West between Old Weston Road and Weston Road/Keele Street. The work involves concrete cutting, excavations, and the use of other machinery to remove portions of the bridge structure. This will be carried out in three phases.
Phase 1 – Concrete cutting above westbound vehicle and TTC lanes: (Sept 11-14, 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.*) During this work, all westbound traffic will detour using Old Weston Road to Junction Road and then to Keele Street. The sidewalk on the north side of St. Clair Avenue West, between Weston Road/Keele Street and Old Weston Road will be closed.
Phase 2 - Concrete cutting above eastbound vehicle and TTC lanes: (Sept 15-18, 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.*)
During this work, all eastbound traffic will detour using Keele Street to Junction Road and then to Old Weston Road. The sidewalk on the south side of St. Clair Avenue West, between Weston Road/Keele Street and Old Weston Road will be closed.
Phase 3 – Partial demolition and removal of the bridge structure (Sept. 19-20, 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 a.m.*) During this phase, the entire road will be closed. All east and westbound traffic will detour using the previously mentioned detour routes and pedestrian access will not be available.
• Construction lighting may be visible from the work site.
• St. Clair Avenue West will be closed for periods of time during work. Signage will redirect traffic around the work zones.
• A paid duty officer, flaggers and detour signs will be onsite to direct traffic as needed.
• All businesses in the area will remain open during work. Please follow signage for access.
• Temporary sidewalk closures or pedestrian detours will be in place while the work is underway, with signs in place to direct pedestrians as needed.
• Clear and defined walking paths will be maintained during construction to ensure pedestrian safety.
• Residences and businesses in the area may experience noise and vibration caused by construction equipment related to this work.
• Crews will take measures to minimize disruptions to the surrounding area wherever possible.
• Trucks accessing the site will be equipped with broadband backup alarms, which emit a less disruptive sound compared to traditional beeping backup alarms.

• Several streetcar routes will be impacted. The TTC will provide bus bridging service to maintain mobility for riders and the local community.
