Metrolinx is delivering more than transit: it’s strengthening communities. Through our Community Benefits and Supports Program, we connect people to jobs, support local businesses and social enterprises, enhance public spaces, and ensure community voices help shape the future.

We’ve seen the lasting impact of the program. Since its inception, our contractors have hired 2,472 local residents on our projects, invested $314 million into local businesses, and procured $3.2 million in goods and services from social enterprises across the region.

Making Community Benefits & Supports Happen – A Year in Review: 2024–2025 is our latest report, and this year we’ve updated the format by highlighting how each project delivers tangible benefits to specific communities. From subway and LRT projects to GO Expansion construction, we’ve included data and real stories from communities that have experienced the positive impact of the program.
