July 24 - Metrolinx, in coordination with the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), will implement a planned late opening of Line 6 Finch West on Monday, August 3 to complete a signalling software upgrade that will support the continued reliability and performance of the line.

Regular service will end as scheduled on Sunday, August 2. Line 6 service will resume at 4 p.m. on Monday, August 3.

During the service interruption, replacement shuttle buses will operate along Finch Avenue West, ensuring customers can continue to travel across the corridor. Customers should visit TTC.ca for alternate transit planning and more information related to service adjustments.

The late opening will allow crews to complete a signalling software upgrade across the entire line. The work requires a continuous installation and testing window and cannot be completed during normal overnight maintenance periods. Completing the upgrade during a single planned service interruption minimizes the need for multiple customer disruptions and supports the long-term reliability of the system.

Advance notice, replacement shuttle bus service, and coordinated communications with the TTC will help customers plan their travel and minimize disruption.

We thank customers for their patience as we complete this important upgrade and continue to invest in a reliable and efficient transit system for the growing communities served by Line 6 Finch West.
